Female colonial wood carver and craft worker who exhibited her wares, including two carved mirrors, at the Sydney International Exhibition in 1879. Given that near identical works were exhibited the following year at the Melbourne International Exhibition it is thought that J. Alexander and M. Alexander are in fact the same person.
