Nellie Christmas was a Plein-Air painter in WA; taught by her brother Ernest W. Christmas. Her works are signed "Nellie Christmas." After marriage to Fred Clarence Stockwell in 1905 she changed her name and no works by Mrs. F. C. Stockwell are known. Nellie and Fred had five children, William, Bettina, Aileen, Robert, and Bunny. Fred was Assistant Director of Technical Education for Western Australia until his death in 1925.
