Nelson Illingworth b. 1862

Illingsworth was a sculptor, employed by the Sydney Technical College as a sculptor and model maker. He later turned to pottery, then portrait busts in the 1890s. In 1893, he also executed the models for the ornamental lamp posts for Martin Place in front of the General Post Office. He carried out a number of portrait sculpture commissions and exhibited his work at Anthony Horderns in 1924.
