Industrial designer Norman Bel Geddes was born in 1893.

Bel Geddes worked for the Graham-Page company designing streamlined car prototypes. He was later hired by Chrysler to help promote their Chrysler Airflow (1934).

Notably, Bel Geddes designed General Motors’ Futurama pavilion at the 1939 New York World’s fair.

Geddes died in 1958. His work is represented in the collection of the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney, NSW
