Oron Catts is a tissue engineering artist, researcher and curator. He was born in Finland and has lived in Israel and Australia. In 1996 he founded the Tissue Culture and Art Project (1996). In 2000 he co-founded, with Miranda Grounds and Stuart Bunt, The Art & Science Collaborative Research Laboratory at The School of Anatomy & Human Biology, University of Western Australia. In 2000-2001 he was a Research fellow at The Tissue Engineering & Organ Fabrication Laboratory, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Catts has also trained in product design, specialising in the future interaction of design and biological derived technologies.
