Cutten began her Melbourne fashion career in the studio of Geoff Bade. Bade established her in a label "Kelli Limited Editions" . She later moved to "Thomas Wardle" as a designer and opened her own showroom in 1980 under the label "Perri Cutten". The label later sold nationally.
