Travis established the Shillito Travis Design School in association with Phyllis Shillito, later lecturing at COFA, noted colour consultant, kite-maker, ceramic artist and designer. Travis was hired by Alistair McCrea to revolutionise Speedo's range of men's leisurewear, now archived in the Powerhouse Museum. His large-scale kites have been adapted for interior design commissions and performance art events.
