Raymond McGrath studied under some of the most well known names in Australian art, including Raynor Hoff and Julian Ashton. Despite his primary career as an architect, he turned his hand to bookbinding, etching, linocut and wood engraving. After moving to the UK in 1926, he became an important modernist architect and worked as an official war artist during WWII. He never returned to Australia and
