cartoonist, signed a cartoon, Union is strength , showing a man tying a bundle of twigs labelled with the names of the separate Australian colonies together with cord labelled 'Federation’. It appeared in Melbourne Punch on 26 June 1860. McCracken identifies the artist from a copy with a handwritten name beside the published drawing. Also reproduced in Brenda Rainbow’s 2001 Bunker Gallery catalogue on Federation and cartoonists.
