Robert Keith Reeves Haines b. 1910

Robert Haines was a progressive and influential curator and educator in mid-20th century Australia. He managed the Georges Gallery in Melbourne after WWII, was assistant director at the National Gallery of Victoria where he encouraged the acquisition of leading furniture-maker and designer Schulim Krimper, director of the Queensland Art Gallery 1951-60 and director of David Jones Fine Art Gallery 1960-76.
