Ronald Murray of Balranald in Southwest New South Wales is a carver of red gum tree root. He was a finalist in the 1996 “Art of Place – National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Heritage Art Award” with his carving titled Didgeridoo Snake. This work was carved from a piece of petrified red gum root found on the banks of the Telpee Lake on Yanga Station, New South Wales.
