Roy McIvor was born on the Lutheran mission of Cape Bedford, north of Cooktown in 1934 and was inspired by his teacher’s wife to create artworks. His paintings often discuss events of the day and he has exhibited his work in the 2006 'Gatherings II’ exhibition in Brisbane.
