A painter, printmaker, potter, weaver and art teacher. Ainsworth travelled to Europe in the 1920s where she was inspired by the influences of cubism, surrealism and the modern art movement generally. Upon returning to Australia she became a committed and passionate art teacher, developing her weaving and pottery skills. Her teaching in these areas later formed the basis of the Sturt Craft Workshop
