sketcher, drew an extremely accomplished pencil sketch dated March 1824 of Bathurst Waterfalls New South Wales – Discovered in the Year 1818 by Lieut. Oxley (ML), which seems to have been copied from Bathurst Falls, Apsley River, an engraving published in John Oxley’s Journal of Two Expeditions into the Interior of Australia (London 1820) after a drawing by Major James Taylor from a sketch by George William Evans. Originality did not have a high priority with early colonial artists.
