Therese Van Der Aa was a student at the TSIT and University of Tasmania in the 80s, and a professional potter at the Ceramic Five Studio in the 90s. An article in Pottery in Australia, 29/2, 1990, pp:8-9 (Trish Armstrong, “Ceramic 5 Studio”) describes a partnership of five potters – Zsolt Faludi, Zsuzsa Kollo, Therese van Der Aa and Catherine Batten – in an old warehouse in Launceston. In 1990 Therese was making functional forms with simple stoneware glazes and decorative techniques. There’s also mention of her at recent Tasmanian art fairs.
