sketcher and chemist, came to Victoria in the early 1850s in search of gold. At Maryborough in 1854 he drew a pair of watercolour views showing the rarely depicted subject of the interior arrangement of a tent on the diggings (private collection): Our Bedroom on the Goldfields and Our Tent on the Goldfields .
