professional photographer, had a studio in The Crescent, Talbot, Victoria, and worked at both Talbot and Amhurst in 1867 according to the Sandhurst [Bendigo] Directory . A carte-de-visite from Talbot is in the La Trobe Library. The photographer may be the American W.E. James who visited the Holy Land in the late 1860s and produced 50 stereo views included in the 1869 catalogue of the American Stereoscopic Company.
