painter, signed a small oil on wood View of Hill’s Mill and Lethbridge esq. House and Nth Head of Port Jackson, N.S.W. (1840, ML). The artist is thought to have been William Edward Shaw, the Scottish maternal grandfather of the Sydney collector and benefactor Sir William Dixson. The mill in the painting was better known as Craigend Mill.
