Illustrator, was a London artist who accompanied the mining engineer and speculator Albert F. Calvert on his fourth visit to the goldfields of WA (and regularly got lost because of his curiosity according to Calvert). He illustrated Calvert’s account of the trip, published in 1897. Eight pen and ink 'Sketches of Australian Scenes’ c.1890, possibly originals for Calvert’s 'Exploring Expedition … NW Australia’ 1891 are held in the Mitchell Library (PXA 4464) and attributed to Calvert though there is speculation that they were in fact executed by Hodgson.
