Biography

Currently Creative Development Fellowship with the Department of Culture and the Arts in Western Australia.

Recently Artist In Residence at Fremantle Art Centre Western Australia.

David brings his unique immersive 360º air-inflated portable video dome to his studio in Room 10 as part of his residency. This will be a space to experiment with 360º video and high resolution 360º VR panoramas of various locations in the City of Fremantle. One area of David's research will be investigating the Panopticon - a type of building designed by English philosopher and social theorist Jeremy Bentham who proposed this was "a new mode of obtaining power of mind over mind, in a quantity hitherto without example."

Having worked on many collaborative projects with artists and scientists in Australia, the UK and Finland, David has undertaken residencies at Horizon - the Planetarium in Perth, The Polaris Solar Observatory in Sodankyla Finland, Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold-mines and the Arts and Culture Centre on Christmas Island.
