  • Fawcett, J W (c.1894), 'Queenslander’, Queenslander, Brisbane, QLD, JW Fawcett’s notes on Queensland ornithology were complimented by Alder’s grisaille watercolours. The first installment was published on 22 September 1894 and continued weekly until 14 March 1896. Until 1900 intermittent illustrated entries continued to be exhibited in the Queenslander. A colour reproduction of Alder’s painting of 17 Queensland birds, now in the collection of the State Library of Queensland, was published in 1906-12-08.
