Painter, born in Berlin, Germany, in 1922. Friedeberger studied painting at East Sydney Technical College, Darlinghurst, (1947-50). Friedeberger won the Mosman Art Prize in 1949 and later moved to England.

In 2007 the NGA acquired James Agapitos OAM, and Ray Wilson OAM, collection of Australian Surrealist art. Drawn from this collection this exhibition showed the breadth of Surrealist practice in this country from the 1920s to the 1950s.
