Gryphon Gallery, est 1972, part of Melbourne CAE. It had a policy of deliberate diversity, exhibiting & collecting contemporary artists & craftspeople, staff, students, visiting artists.
Gryphon’s Art collection is at Uni of Melb.
The gallery provided a professional exhibition space.
It was a place where staff & students could make contact with developments in the visual arts.
Closed 1991.
