W. W. Pentland was a professional photographer in Melbourne in the 1850s. He was listed as a 'Daguerrean artist' and had a studio on Bourke St for a number of years.

In 1857-58 Pentland’s Photographic Gallery, next to the Herald office, advertised: 'Good likenesses or no charge’. Pentland remained at the Bourke Street address until 1860, then disappears.
