Moderators are an important part of the DAAO community. They are experts in their field selected by the Editorial Board or by other Moderators.
What can DAAO Moderators do?
• Accept or reject other Members’ edits. Moderators check the quality and accuracy of DAAO content in their area of expertise and ensure that records meet DAAO’s Contributor Guidelines.
• Create and join Projects to collaborate with other Moderators on content pushes.
• Add image links from sites other than Flickr.

Role —- Permission Level
Members —- can contribute content or edit existing content
Moderators —- can approve or reject member contributions
Editorial Board—- oversee content and editorial policy
Administrators —- DAAO staff ensure the site operates smoothly
How to Moderate a Record
First – save records in your area of expertise to your Watch List. How?
Then – make sure you’re notifications are turned on. How?
You will be notified when records require moderation. Once you get the notification you simply click on the link and review the changes a member has made. You approve or reject the record, no rewriting is required.
How can I become a Moderator?
There are a number of ways that members to become moderators.
• Contribute quality work to the database: Members whose work is consistently accepted by Moderators will earn Activity points. Members with enough points will be flagged for promotion by the Editorial board.
• Get involved in projects: find a public project relating to your research area and join it. Some projects are marked invitation only, but you can always ask for an invitation to join it. Or if you have quality research that you think may improve the site, contact us and propose a Project.
• Professional reputation: if you are known for your research expertise among professional peers, you may qualify as a Moderator. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org
